Twee stellen ICNG-7 vormen de ICE naar Meriënborg H., waar de SLT-4 in MVB-uitvoering zojuist vandaan is gekomen. Deze S-trein dient als pendeltrein tussen het stadscentrum en de luchthaven en maakt net voorbij het station kop op een keerspoor. De ICE rijdt onder normale omstandigheden internationaal door naar Erkrath en Thiel Hbf., maar stopt vandaag wegens werkzaamheden voor de grens. Voor het Duitse deeltraject is overigens inzet van specifieke ICNG-10 stellen nodig; de 7-delige ICNG's kunnen slechts onder 1,5kV en 25kV rijden.
