SimTopia Community Guidelines
Version 1.0 – Comprehensive Rules
Our goal is to provide a safe, friendly, and inspiring community for all simulation enthusiasts. To ensure this environment, we uphold the guidelines listed below. By using SimTopia, including our website, Discord, and all related services, you agree to abide by these rules.
1. Respect & Conduct
1.1 All members must treat each other with respect across the forum, Discord, and all other SimTopia services.
1.2 Insults, harassment, swearing, hate speech, discrimination, racism, personal attacks, or provoking others are strictly prohibited.
1.3 Criticism is allowed, but it must always be polite, constructive, and focused on the content.
1.4 Discussions must remain civil and on-topic; personal conflicts are not tolerated.
1.5 Engage with others the same way you would like to be treated.
2. Suitable for All Ages
2.1 SimTopia is intended for users of all ages.
2.2 Sexual, explicit, or suggestive content is not allowed.
2.3 Violent, graphic, disturbing, or gory content is prohibited.
2.4 Sharing links to such content is also forbidden.
2.5 If you are unsure whether content is appropriate, do not post it.
3. Message Quality & Posting Guidelines
3.1 Posts must be readable: use proper grammar, punctuation, and clear sentences.
3.2 Always post in the correct forum section or Discord channel.
3.3 When reporting a problem, include all relevant information such as:
- 3.3.1 error messages
- 3.3.2 software versions or system specs
- 3.3.3 what you already tried yourself
3.4 Poorly placed or incomplete topics may be moved or removed.
3.5 Think before posting: does your message contribute meaningfully?
4. Spam & Unnecessary Posts
4.1 Replies must add meaningful value to the discussion.
4.2 Posting short comments like “Looks nice!” or “Good job!” in an inactive topic (30+ days) counts as an unnecessary bump and will be removed.
4.3 Slow-chatting is not allowed on the forum; use Discord for casual conversation.
4.4 Avoid double posting; use the edit function to update your message.
4.5 Unapproved advertising, self-promotion, or commercial links are prohibited.
4.6 Sending unsolicited promotional private messages is not allowed.
4.7 Excessive posting, spam, repeated messages or bumps will be moderated.
5. Use Existing Resources First
5.1 Check tutorials, FAQs, and guides before asking for help.
5.2 Use the search function to see if your question already has an answer.
5.3 Do not open duplicate topics for questions that already exist.
5.4 If a solution from an existing topic does not work, reply in that thread with additional information.
5.5 Duplicate topics may be merged or removed.
6. Developers & Project Discussions
6.1 SimTopia hosts multiple passionate developers who voluntarily share their work.
6.2 It is not allowed to ask for:
- 6.2.1 release dates
- 6.2.2 development progress updates
- 6.2.3 whether a project is still being worked on
6.3 Pressuring developers or demanding updates is not tolerated.
6.4 Respect their time and creative freedom.
7. Copyright & Privacy
7.1 All content is protected by copyright. Do not share anything without permission and/or proper credit.
7.2 Do not upload or distribute content that was shared privately or is not meant for public release.
7.3 Sharing, redistributing, or leaking paid content without permission is strictly forbidden.
7.4 Do not post images or videos containing identifiable people without their consent.
7.5 Using AI to recreate copyrighted content is allowed only within legal limits.
8. Illegal Software & Piracy
8.1 Sharing, using, or promoting illegal software, cracks, torrents, dumps, or stolen payware is strictly prohibited.
8.2 Linking to websites that distribute illegal content is not allowed.
8.3 Support requests for illegally obtained content will be removed without warning.
8.4 Repeated violations may result in temporary or permanent bans.
8.5 If you encounter illegal content being shared, report it immediately.
9. Moderation & Enforcement
9.1 The moderation team ensures a safe and welcoming environment on SimTopia.
9.2 Moderators may edit, move, or remove content when necessary.
9.3 Moderators may issue warnings or take action against rule violations.
9.4 For serious or repeated violations, the moderation team may decide to:
- 9.4.1 Temporarily ban the user
- 9.4.2 Permanently ban the user
9.5 The reason for a ban will always be communicated.
9.6 Publicly attacking, insulting, or arguing with moderators is forbidden.
10. Reporting Violations
10.1 If you see inappropriate behavior or a rule violation, report it:
- 10.1.1 On the forum → use the “Report” button
- 10.1.2 On Discord → mention @moderator
10.2 Do not take matters into your own hands.
10.3 Reports are handled confidentially.
10.4 Abuse of the reporting system is not allowed.
11. Following Moderator Instructions
11.1 Moderator instructions must be followed immediately.
11.2 If you disagree with a decision, contact the moderator privately.
11.3 Ignoring instructions may result in temporary actions.
11.4 Repeated refusal can result in removal from the platform.
12. Unforeseen Situations
12.1 Not every situation can be covered by these rules.
12.2 In unclear cases, the moderation team will determine the appropriate action.
12.3 Such decisions are always made in the interest of safety and community health.
12.4 Moderator decisions are final.
13. Final Provisions
13.1 By using SimTopia, you agree to these guidelines.
13.2 The rules may be updated or expanded at any time.
13.3 Major changes will be announced via the forum or Discord.
13.4 Users are responsible for staying informed about updates.
