Ook op de veelgebruikte treinserie 3700 (Teringe - Helde Centraal - Sintmertens - Bern Centrum) zijn de ICR-stammen nog altijd hard nodig en rijden deze ongebruikelijk zelfs in sandwichformatie met locs van de serie 186. Deze sandwiches zijn hoofdzakelijk bedoeld om HSL-verkeer onder 25 kilovolt mogelijk te maken, maar de instroom van ICNG-stellen in de afgelopen jaren hebben dit oudere mat al grotendeels verdreven van de HSL's. In de serie 3700 rijdt dan ook een mengelmoes van ICM en ICR met de nadruk op DDZ tijdens de drukke spitsuren.
