Bijna klaar waren ze al in 1989, de sneltreinrijtuigen van het type Plan E. De reguliere zitrijtuigen gingen in dit jaar grotendeels aan de kant; één stam werd paraat gehouden voor feestritten. Voor het 150-jarig jubileum van de spoorwegen werden stoomloc 3737 en een aantal oude treinstellen aandachtig gerestaureerd.
